D365 Finance - Vendor Invoice Management

Vendor invoices are essential financial documents in Dynamics 365 Finance, representing payment requests for goods and services received. These invoices can be linked to purchase orders (POs) or used for recurring expenses such as utilities. Proper vendor invoice management ensures financial accuracy, compliance, and efficient payment processing.

Types of Vendor Invoices

  • Purchase Order-Based Invoices – Created when products or services are received as per a purchase order.

  • Non-PO Invoices – Used for services or expenses not tied to a specific purchase order, such as rent or utility bills.

Several methods are available for recording vendor invoices:

  • Vendor Invoice Register & Approval Journal – Used to log invoices quickly, approve them, and reverse accruals if necessary.

  • Vendor Invoice Journal – Allows direct entry of invoices without a purchase order.

  • Open & Pending Vendor Invoices Pages – Enables invoice creation directly from confirmed purchase orders.

  • Invoice Capture Solution – Automates invoice creation by extracting details from digital invoices.

Power Pages - Architecture

Microsoft Power Pages is a secure, scalable, and high-availability platform for building business-critical websites.

A Content Delivery Network (CDN) enhances website performance by reducing network latency and caching static files.

  • Built-in CDN Support: Power Pages provides an out-of-the-box CDN that can be enabled by the site administrator.

  • Third-Party CDN Support: Users can integrate Azure Front Door, Akamai, Cloudflare, Imperva, and other external CDN providers.

A Web Application Firewall (WAF) safeguards the website from common cyber threats, such as: Cross-site scripting (XSS), SQL injection, File inclusion attacks

  • Built-in WAF: Power Pages includes a default WAF that the site administrator can enable.

  • Custom WAF Integration: Users can implement Azure Front Door, Akamai, Cloudflare, Imperva, or other security providers for enhanced protection.

Each Power Pages production website is integrated with an Azure Traffic Manager to direct traffic to the most optimal server.

  • Active/Passive Mode: Ensures website availability by routing traffic to the active server.

  • Automatic Failover: Redirects users to a secondary application server if the primary fails.

Copilot Studio - Publish Agent

Before users can interact with an agent, it must be published. Once published, the agent is accessible on selected platforms and can be updated as needed. Changes made to the agent require republishing to ensure the latest version is available.

Steps to Publish an Agent

  • Open the agent in Copilot Studio.

  • Select Publish from the navigation menu.

  • Click Publish and confirm.

  • Test the agent after publishing.

If modifications are made to the agent, republishing is necessary to reflect updates across all connected channels.

  • Authenticate with Microsoft (Default):

  • No Authentication:

  • Authenticate Manually:

Using authentication ensures controlled access and enhances security.
